Andrea Gates has been working in clay for the last 15 years. She started at the Hyde Park Art Center and then was at the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago. After a move to Southern California she studied under, and was inspired by, the late, Alfred-trained ceramist Richard White. Gates has shown her handbuilt ceramics at juried regional shows in Southern California, including her proudest ceramics moment, having a piece exhibited at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pamona, California.
