What drives you? Is there a song lyric that always pumps you up for the day? Maybe it's a famous quote that inspires you to be a better you. Or perhaps you only need a single word to carry you through each challenge. Show your inspiration by wearing and creating your own one-of-a kind “Words of Power” pendant on Saturday, June 2, 9-11 am.

In this class, you will add color to your 2x3/4 inch copper piece with the use of a large variety of enamel glass powders and finish your design off with worded decals. If you wish, send in your own “words of power” to be prepared ahead of time by Amy, to further customize your pendant.

You will learn basic enamel skills such as properly cleaning your copper and preparing it for the enameling process.  The enamel process will involve sifting powdered glass onto copper, using repeat firings of a Mapp gas torch to heat and melt the powdered glass, then with the use of the torch applying and adhering ceramic decals to your enameled piece. A large variety of pre-printed inspirational word decals will be available.  If you would like to use your own custom word or phrase please make note of that in your registration so that a ceramic decal will be provided . The message you choose should have no more than 10 words. Your finished pendant will hang from a 28-inch stainless steel ball chain. There will be a wide assortment of beads and charms to accessorize your pendant.

Students should wear closed toe shoes, natural fiber clothing and have their hair tied back.
